All I Want for Christmas

If there is one thing that my parents have learned over the past few years, is that I don't want for much. I have this wonderful habit of buying my own stuff when I want it. But then you are asked the horrid question "What do you want for Christmas?"

Well sometimes people don't accept the answer nothing or I don't know. Nor does it help that I am trying to separate my life from being too materialistic, because honestly more stuff does not equal happiness; it equals unnecessary clutter. Or so the Tiny Home motto says.

But in order to avoid sayingI don't know or nothing, here is my small carefully constructed Christmas List.

Have you already made your Christmas list?

Sunday Social

Let me start by saying... My house sitting dogs did not appreciate the current weather that happened last night (and is still happening thus making it current) in Arizona and I ended up passing out on the couch pinned in by two of the smallest dogs that I watch. Literally I think that they are the tiniest out of them all. And while it was super adorbs to have both of them snuggled up to me because it made them feel better, all of that adorbs-ness went away when I woke up at 3:30a with a very numb ass, a painfully pinched shoulder, and a very full bladder. That may have been tmi, but my point is I am up and creating posts like a boss. A boss who is helped by coffee, lots of coffee.

3 favorite songs right now:
Bad Intentions by Niykee Heaton because the vocals are amazing.
Young Love by Jesse McCartney because who didn't love him growing up? That and it's fun to dance around to.
And a complete 180- Master of Puppets by Metallica. My brother used to always play this one guitar solo and I couldn't figure out which song it belonged to until now. Plus it is like 8 minutes long and keeps you pumped when the rest of your body is cursing at you for attempting to work out.

3 movies that remind me of summer:
Dirty Dancing, Sweet Home Alabama, and Mama Mia because all three were played at Scrapbooking Camp and we all knew the words by heart.

3 of my favorite items of clothing that I own:
My jeans.
All of my Mossimo Red tank tops, I like to layer.
And a tattered old baton tank top that I have had for YEARS. It is extremely comfy now.

3 Items on my Amazon wish list:

The UP24 by Jawbone.

And this nifty Canon 70D Kit. Give me all of the camera stuff!

3 books I would recommend to someone:
I will be honest in saying that I may not be the best person to recommend books. I read them but I am poor with recommendations. So Instead I am going to give you 3 bloggers that are amazing at listing all of the books they read!
Tiffany at Endless Bliss
Heather at My Little HEA
Natalie at Natalie Patalie

Now back to the favorite song while I blog.

#Surfsup

Happy Thursday ladies and gentledudes. This week has been full of excitement that only I could truly love. It has been boring, work consumed, and leaves me little to no time to blog. Well I would be able to blog more if I didn't take those naps everyday. And I do take a nap literally every day, like a boss. #littlekidmoment

Well let me tell you about a really exciting story. After countless, and I mean countless, posts from other bloggers getting these magical VOX Boxes I knew I had to have one. It was my destiny to get a little box full of free goodies to try and love. So I went over to Influenster and started earning badges like no ones Business. I mean how do you accurately answer a question as to what Chocolate you love more when you love it all?

Eventually, I received an email from Infuenster. They wanted to see if I was the right candidate for a summer box that they were doing. Well hello, I live in Arizona and it is pretty much summer all year round. So I took their little survey and then second guessed my adjective that they asked me would be the best to describe Hawaiian Tropic product. The word that I used was fragrance, so not an adjective.

But they decided to see past my horrible use of proper grammar and sent me one anyways! And I didn't even realize it, until I got it in the mail! Talk about a lovely present!

**Insert baby angel choir singing**

The first thing I did was take out that Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun Lotion and plop it on my still burnt lobster leggies. I had been using the Burts Bee's version of after sun lotion, but the smell of aloe was so overpowering that I couldn't stand it. FYI I hate the smell of aloe. But like all Hawaiian Tropics products the smell was that of coconut and heaven. That smell always makes me think of being on the beach with a fruity drink, being serenaded by Kenny Chesney.  Well I took a big ol' whiff of this after sun lotion and ultimately decided that I needed more of it so that I could take it with me to #blogcation.

Well needless to say I was also painting my nails that night too. At first I looked at the shade of green and thought "great, another color that is going to look like vomit." But despite my first  judgement I slapped it on my nails, realizing that I should never ever give myself a manicure. With 3/4 of it on my actual skin portion of my fingers and not nails, the color ended up being really pretty. This Sinful Colors polish is more of matte type finish with a nice garden green. I would definitely use it again, given that I let a professional put it on.

Would you be shocked if I told you that I also went to the grocery store and wound up with some Jamba Juice Smoothie kits? Because I did. But in my defense I also had to buy dog food so it was a justified trip.  I ended up using both coupons and bought Razmatazz and their green smoothy kit. I have tried the green one out, and it was amaze-balls. Plus it had the effect I wanted, grossing my friend out that I was drinking this ugly green, healthy looking smoothy. The Razmatazz is next, but if it is anything like the real thing it will be equally as amaze-balls.

Now on to the beauty of this box, the Covergirl Bombshell Curvaceous by Lash Blast Mascara! I used to watch ANTM only to say the Covergirl slogan. Easy, Breezy, Beautiful. Covergirl. *cue dramatic hair flip and eye wink* I love Covergirl products and Lash blast is one of my favorite mascara's out there. This mascara had me slightly confused at first as I almost coated my hand when taking out one of the wands. But the end result was simply amazing. No clumping, lots of volume and  it even looks good through the lenses of my glasses. The only thing I fear is the price! I have not gone down the Covergirl isle at my good friend Target yet to see what the damage is going to be, but since I know that normal Lash Blast costs me around $5 I can only imagine that this is going to be $7+.

The last item in my super cool box was the First Aid Shot Therapy (in cherry flavor). Normally I can not drink any liquid medicine besides Robitussin, but I would imagine that the cherry flavor will help. I haven't really had a reason to need to take this yet, but with the Arizona heat I think this will be a great product to try in case I am outside in the sun for too long. Sun Strokes are serious business here.

All in all this was a serious win for my first VOXBOX. I can't wait to get another!!

What was your first VOXBOX? Have you signed up with Influenster yet?

K is for: Kylea's Birthday Wish List!

There are 20 days left until my 25th birthday. I will officially be a quarter old! It's kind of exciting! So to avoid any confusion as to what to get me I made a list. I want all of these items to go into my office once I have it painted and fixed up which will hopefully be in a week or two.  It was hard to actually come up with items that I truly wanted; I never really want anything. But I thought of stuff I know I wouldn't buy myself (besides the candle) and had my birthday list.

Poisened Apple

Let me start by saying that I do truly love my apple products. I will always be an Apple girl. But I am sad to announce that Apple will no longer be my choice for tablets. Instead I have converted over to a  Windows tablet.

(Insert dramatic gasps here)

I know that Windows is a 50/50 toss up, but honestly I love it! When I was contemplating the switch, the minion Bernard, gave me a few different devices to use, all of which he has since upgraded. I had my apple iPad, a Google Nexus, and the Leveno Ideatab.

Apple iPad: I would like to first note that My iPad is the first generation. Meaning it is the dinosaur version of the iPads, but you still get the general feel of the OS (operating system) and the apps that are available. I found it hard to find apps that could handle the items that I needed most for class and for blogging. I could save pictures but then I would need to do 15 different steps to add them to posts and or assignment drafts.  The iPad it was good for your basic web browsing, but when I needed to do something for work it always fought me. I ended up not touching my iPad for over a year, only using it for Netflix and perusing Pinterest. It became a glorified coaster. Plus since I did not win Halfway to Fearless's give away, I am forever traumatized! Just Kidding! I still love that girls blog and can't wait to meet her at Blogcation!

Google Nexus: Now I HATE, HATE, HATE, android. To me it is messy, totally not user friendly, and meant for people who want complications for their device. Now I was ok with dealing with the Nexus, because I had used it before. But the screen was much to small to blog with. Having to use the android OS only infuriated me more. I do love the size (although it is too small for most things) to read from and play Spotify with. The android tablets (and Phones) just do not work with Kylea.

Lenovo IdeaTab: The Lenovo IdeaTab may not be the best of the windows line of tablets, but it is a pretty little nifty gadget. And as my first Windows Tablet, it is doing an amazing job for everything I need to do. I have written 3 posts already from this tablet (including this one) and also submitted my homework  on the University forum. Oh yea, I also was able to save the document to the tablet not somewhere on a cloud drive. I love the start screen since you are able to customize the apps you want to see or use, but it is also streamlined like an iPad. If you want Twitter you don't have to go through dozens of apps like an android to find it;it is right there. Plus you have the capability of going to your desktop and pull any website up with out it being mobilized.

Like I mentioned before, my reason for switching was the fact that I could download documents, and save them to the tablet, making it easy for both school and work. Also, I love the flexibility that it has and the streamline capabilities. I am going to continue to use the Lenovo until it dies, or until  can buy the Surface!

Would you switch to a Windows Tablet such as the Surface? Why?
